StormHarbour Bolsters Madrid Office with Hire

StormHarbour Securities LP announced that it hired Juan Del Rivero as senior advisor in the firm’s new Madrid, Spain office.

He joins Gonzalo Chocano, principal and managing director, head of Spanish origination in StormHarbour’s Madrid office.

Prior to his position at the firm, Del Rivero was a partner and chairman of Goldman Sachs for Spain and Portugal.  His appointment follows a number of senior hires in 2012, including the appointment of Eric Daniels, former group Chief Executive of Lloyds Banking Group, as its first Senior Advisor.

Established in 2009, StormHarbour is an independent, credit focused global financial advisory firm with three core businesses; sales and trading, structuring and advisory and capital markets. The firm has a presence in the major financial centers and is taking advantage of significant growth opportunities arising from the shifting financial services landscape, particularly in sectors vacated by full service banks.

“Southern Europe represents a significant opportunity for the firm and is a key region for our ambitious European growth strategy,” said Antonio Cacorino, managing principal and co-founder of Storm Harbour. “Del Rivero’s broad and extensive experience and long established relationships with senior decision makers are invaluable and we look forward to his active involvement in extending the firm’s franchise.”

StormHarbour’s previous work in Southern Europe includes acting as joint arranger and lead manager for a 198 million-euro ($261 million) asset-backed securitization of consumer, auto loans and leases for Portuguese lender Banif SA last July.
