CIFC Corp. announced on Thursday that John Wu, former head of CLO structuring at UBS, joined the firm as managing director and portfolio manager focusing on structured investments.
Wu has 16 years of financial industry experience within structured products, particularly in structured credit and collateralized loan obligations. Prior to his role at UBS Wu ran asset side new product development at China International Capital Corporation (CICC), a major Chinese investment bank.
From 2003 to 2010, Wu covered CLOs and other structured products at Deutsche Bank, where he held various roles in both structuring and trading. He began his investing career at Sanford Bernstein in 1995 and worked in the credit derivatives group at Goldman Sachs from 2000 to 2003.
CIFC has $10.9 billion under management from corporate loan-based products as of September 30, 2012.
