Deer Park Road Hires Portoflio Manager

Distressed mortgage manager Deer Park Road Corp. has hired Scott Burg as associate portfolio manager, according to published reports.
Burg reports to Michael Scheckman, portfolio manager and owner of the distressed ABS firm. Aside from assisting with the management of the Deer Park Road’s distressed MBS/ABS portfolio, the new hire will assist with the risk management of the portfolio, the reports said.
Before Deer Park, Burg was a principal at General Capital Partners, which focused on advising middle market companies in distressed situations. Prior to that, he was at Pursuit Partners, a fixed-income hedge fund where he also focused on ABS, the reports stated.
Deer Park Road is a privately owned registered investment advisor founded in 2003, according to its Web site. It is a multi-fund investment manager focusing just on distressed real estate
and ABS fixed-income securities for both high net worth individuals and institutional investors.
