Sonnenschein and Denton Wilde Form Partnership

US-based Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal (SNR) and U.K.-based Denton Wilde Sapte have agreed to combine forces, subject to a partnership vote on June 9.

The combined firm, to be called SNR Denton, will have more than 1,400 lawyers and professionals based in 18 countries.

Not technically a merger, the partnership is being structured as a Swiss Verein, similar to other large cross-border professional services tie-ups. However, SNR Denton will operate as one globally integrated firm. Its two largest offices will be London and New York.

The two firms have been in discussions for some months.  SNR Chairman Elliott Portnoy,  will become co-CEO of SNR Denton along with Denton CEO Howard Morris, who will become co-CEO of SNR Denton.
